Canada Games - U17 men's box Lacrosse coaching staff

The FCQ is excited to announce the 2021 Canada Summer Games U17 men’s box lacrosse coaching staff:

Paul Lehmann – Head Coach (Sherbrooke, Qc) - Paul has led Quebec Provincial Box teams on seven occasions. Three times equalling Quebec's best finish at Nationals, winning tier-II gold.  In 2015 he helped coach Team Canada U17 at the World Games where the team went undefeated. As a player, Paul played Jr A for Coquitlam (BC) and was a member of the 1993 Minto Cup finalist team. Currently, he coaches Champlain College in Lennoxville (QC) and delivers many NCCP coaching clinics throughout Eastern Canada.

Garret Cree – Assistant Coach (Kahnawake, Qc) – In 2015 and 2018 Garret was the Head Coach of Team Iroquois Midget leading the team to silver and bronze medals at the Canadian Championships. He’s currently the head coach of the Kahnawake Jr. B Hunters in his third season. As a player, Garret played ten seasons of Sr A. He also won a silver at the Jr. B Founders Cup.  Garret played four years of field at Plattsburgh State University where he earned a degree in sociology. 

Jeffrey Hébert – Assistant Coach (Saint-Mathias-sur-Richelieu, Qc) – Jeff coached the Quebec Provincial Bantam team in 2017 that went to Saskatoon (SK). Jeff played Junior A for the Akwesasne Indians, from 2006 to 2011, making the OLA playoffs in each of those years. After graduating from junior lacrosse, Jeff went on to win a Presidents Cup with St. Regis in 2012. Currently, Jeff is a Quebec NCCP Learning Facilitator. 

Myan Adams – Assistant Coach (Snye, Qc) – Myan currently coaches the Akwesasne Jr. B Indians defense in his second season. As a player, Myan played Jr. A lacrosse for five seasons with the Akwesasne Indians, becoming captain of the team in his final 3 years. In his final season, he was traded to the BCLA Coquitlam Adanacs who went on to the 2011 Minto Cup finals. After Jr., Myan also played two seasons of Sr. A for the Langley Thunder in BC.  From 2009 to 2013, Myan attended Cornell University on a field scholarship while earning a Bachelor of Science degree. During those 4 years at Cornell, the team won 3 Ivy League Championships and 2 NCAA Final Four appearances.

Mike Thompson – Goalie Coach (Snye, Qc) – Mike was this year's head coach of Team Iroquois Bantam and led his team to a bronze medal at Nationals. In Akwesasne, he has helped numerous young goalies develop and reach some of the highest levels in the game.  As a goalie himself, Mike won the Mann Cup (Sr A) in both 2010 and 2012 with the Peterborough Lakers. In 2012 Mike was awarded the prestigious Mann Cup Tournament MVP. In 2008, he also won an NLL Championship with the Buffalo Bandits. Mike played a total of seven seasons in the NLL. 

David Ouellette – Strength and Conditioning Coach (St-Hubert, Qc) – David coached the South Shore OLA Bantam B team last year to a very successful season. Along with his lacrosse coaching, David also oversees the hockey team at College Durocher in St-Lambert (Qc). Having completed a BSc in Human Kinetics - Applied Studies in Kinesiology Option, David will be in charge of the team's off floor training programs, nutrition, physical preparation and player progress over the two years leading up to the Canada Games. David played university and junior lacrosse in Ottawa.
